Mindset and Your Destiny

Have you ever wondered or thought about why there's such a range of beliefs and levels of maturity among Christians?  Why do some Christians know what God has called them to do, yet others struggle all of their lives to discover their calling?

Why do some Christians hear the voice of God so clearly, while others struggle just to find words to pray?

Have you ever wondered why there are times when you've sensed God's presence with you so strongly, while at other times you wonder if He is even in the same universe as you are?

Have you wondered why some Christians seem to grow so fast and have a deep relationship with God, while others seem to stay in the same place for years?

All these things will affect how you develop in the destiny and calling God has for us and how effective you will be.

You're Not Alone

If you have, don't feel like you're alone.  Most have wondered these things.  I've wondered about these things for years.  I 've wondered about myself for years.  I think, why is it, at times, I seem to grow so fast and have such a deep sense of closeness with the Lord.  I think why, at other times, I seem to have reached a plateau and don't seem to grow in my relationship with Him much at all.

Can you identify with any of this?  You and I both can.  It can be frustrating.

During these times, you can feel like you're not much of a Christian or not as much of a Christian as others.  All of these thoughts can play havoc on you being able to recognize and fulfill your calling and destiny.  Nothing can keep you from fulfilling your calling and destiny like an inconsistent life in Christ.

On top of these other things, you have the devil and his demons speaking lies into your ear.  The Bible calls the devil the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10).  He constantly tries to condemn you in your "failures" in your walk with Christ.  I believe we've all experienced that. photo-A Lie Has No Legs Message

It's All In Your Mind

But you know what?  It's in your mind.  Yes, it's literally in your mind.  Now, wait a minute.  No one said you were going crazy, going off the deep end, only imagining things, or anything like that.  You're not any of those things.  It's all literally, in your mind.

Your mind and mindset plays a huge part in your success in fulfilling your God-given calling and destiny.  The scriptures below remind us of this.

  1. 2 Corinthians 10:5 - "...we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ".
  2. Romans 12:2 - And do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..."
  3. 2 Timothy 3:8 - "And just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men (those described in verses 1-7) also oppose the truth, men of a depraved mind, rejected as regards the faith.
  4. Proverbs 23:7 - As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

The mind.  Not often spoken of in Christian circles, yet crucial to the fulfillment of your life in Christ, along with your calling and destiny.
